May your healing power be released in our city…

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

Thank you Father, that Penrose-St. Francis Health Services was recognized as one of the top 50 hospitals in the nation.

We pray that you would continue to bless the medical professionals in our city and add the power to heal in Jesus name to their quality care and up to date knowledge.  May miraculous healings be added to the natural healings that happen every day at the hospitals.  May our city be a center for healing and restoration of the sick, the hurting, and the broken.

We pray for the restoration of all things…

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

Yahweh Elohim, thank you for loving us so much that you sent your one and only Son, Jesus, to come down into this world as Messiah to become our Passover Lamb. You healed us of our sin-sickness and took away our guilt and shame. We long for the day when You return to rule as King forever. The earth also groans as a woman in childbirth for her own redemption (Romans 8:22). We see the signs in the earth, even tbe birthpangs as contractions with increasing earthquakes, fires, floods, plagues, war, and famine.

Lord you promised in Revelation 21:1-5 that one day we would see a new heaven and a new earth. We long to see the restoration of all things… the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. Then, once again the dwelling of God will be with people and You will live with us. HalleluYah, for the Bridegroom comes quickly to make all things new! Come Lord, Jesus, come!!

We pray for the entertainment and publishing companies…

marqueeHow beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!’” Isaiah 52:7

Father, raise up in our city companies that will produce movies, music, books, and shows that reflect your truth, your ways, and your redemption.  Bless the companies that we have today and lead us to start new ones.  Provide the finances needed to develop what you want distributed.  Give them ideas on what to produce, who to enlist, and how to market their art and entertainment in a way that it will affect and influence the greatest number of people around the world.

We pray for support for our families…

Wait No More - adopted brothers“Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.” 3 John 2

In our busy, mobile, and transitory society, we pray for connections and ways to strengthen and support one another.  May our city’s family members make the time and effort to connect with one another. May families connect to other families, sharing the load of raising children, sharing wisdom with each other, and building each other up.  Strengthen the families of our city so that we may live healthy and Godly lives.

O Lord, thank you for delighting to save and heal our Soldiers!

“The Lord reached down from above and took me;
he pulled me from the deep water.
He saved me from my powerful enemies,
from those who hated me, because they were too strong for me.
They attacked me at my time of trouble,
but the Lord supported me.
He took me to a safe place.
Because he delights in me, he saved me.” Psalm 18:16-19

Thank you Father, for the soldiers who have been delivered from danger and healed of their wounds.  We pray for your hand to be on each and every soldier, guiding them to safety, healing them of their wounds, and drawing them to yourself.

We pray for clarity on campaign finance law…

“In a lawsuit the first to speak seems right, until someone comes forward and cross-examines.” Proverbs 18:17

Father, we pray for clarity on the laws regarding corporations donating to the campaigns of city officials.  The City Clerk and City Attorney say one thing, but previous State Attorneys General have said another.  Please help us to resolve this issue and move on to hearing how the candidates will serve the city.

We pray for the local school boards . . .

“May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us.”  –Ps. 90:17

Father God, we pray for the school boards of the districts in the Pikes Peak region.  Give each of the members wisdom and inspiration as they deal with personnel and budget decisions.  May they find unity in a common commitment to serve the best interests of the students and their school communities.  We also ask that your favor would release needed resources where they are diminishing.
