A simple request…

Deployed soldierFather, we have this simple request for all of our military personnel who are deployed elsewhere:

Please bring them all home safe!

We pray for the police department…

“Oppression can turn a wise person into a fool; likewise, a bribe corrupts the heart.” Ecclesiastes 7:7

In the name of Jesus, we call the Colorado Springs Police Department into alignment with the purposes of Father God. Root out any corruption, Lord, and cut off any corruption at the root. We call for Your will to be done in our Police Department – promote the men and women dedicated to Your righteous ways. We decree that the justice of the Lord permeates the Department!

We pray for jobs and volunteer opportunities for city teens . . .

“We work hard with our own hands.”     — I Cor 4:12

Father God, we pray for the teenagers who are looking for jobs or volunteer work for the summer.  We ask for work and volunteer opportunities in our city for our young people to develop skills and use their time constructively.  We also ask that business and organization leaders in this city would increase their commitment to developing more opportunities for young adults; provide the leaders with creative ideas and the resources to implement them.

We pray for the Banning Lewis Ranch sale…

Banning Lewis Ranch“Enlarge the place of your tent,
   stretch your tent curtains wide,
   do not hold back;
lengthen your cords,
   strengthen your stakes.”  Isaiah 54:2

Father, we pray for the auction of the Banning Lewis Ranch property taking place this week.  We pray for your hand to be on the process to bring a fair and proper sale.  We ask that you will use the change of ownership to carry out your will for the east side of our city.  May it make room for the people that you want to bring to our city.

May your rule be extended over our city…

Unshakable

“The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic. The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.” Psalms 29:3-5

Father God, make your voice known in Colorado Springs and along the Front Range! Awaken your Church, and bring us into alignment with what you are doing this very hour. Shake all that can be shaken, so that only that of which is established on your firm foundation will remain.

We thank you that you are pouring out your Spirit on all flesh. Teach us to walk in your anointing as new wine skins filled with the “Joy of the Lord”, which is our strength in battle. Lead us to decree judgments on the powers of darkness, establishing true justice. In Jesus’ most powerful name! Amen!

We pray for our city’s summer sports . . .

“In the ‘big inning’ . . .”  –Gen 1:1  🙂

Father God, we thank for all the ways that families can enjoy sporting events in our city this summer.  We pray for a family-friendly atmosphere at the Sky Sox games.  We also pray for a spirit of good sportmanship on the baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse and other  game fields in our city this summer.   May the participants  have fun, and the fans be encouraging and civil.

We pray the foster children would wait no more…

Wait No More - adopted brothersFor you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”  Romans 8:15

Thank you father, for the Wait No More initiative to find permanent homes for all adoptable kids.

We pray that the 300 or so adoptable kids in Colorado find permanent homes and that there becomes a surplus of families willing to adopt so that no child has to wait again.  We also pray for the adoptive families, that you would give them the wisdom, patience, and love they need and that you would bring healing and wholeness to their adopted kids.  Please provide all the resources those families need — physical, spiritual, emotional and financial.
