Father, cause military families to thrive…

“I have come that they may have life & life abundantly”.  John 10:10b

The years of separation caused by multiple deployments has taken a negative toll on families here. Rather than just survive the loneliness, we pray families thrive. Change mind sets & open new ideas & goals for husbands, wives, & children as they wait. May a relationship with You be counted as the #1 desire of their hearts. Do the same for their soldier spouses so that their reunion will be the most blessed time of their lives as You reign as head of their families eternally.

Let us see ourselves rightly…

“We have this treasure in earthen vessels.” 2 Corinthians 4:7

Father we pray for the management of the city workers, that you would open the eyes to the great treasures the employees are, replacing a tool mentality that sees workers as tools to an end, with the mentality of treasures, that sees each one as a great treasure. Next we pray for the workers themselves to see themselves rightly, coming out from a subservient mindset into a purposeful mindset centered around your goodness and mercy. Father allow us the grace to see as you see, ourselves and each other in this arena. We now declare your goodness and mercy over Colorado Springs and the entire sphere of government, and ask you for this transformation in revelation of who you truly are by the authority of the name of Jesus.

Guide our middle schoolers . . .

“My son, [my daughter,] hear the instruction of your father; reject not nor forsake the teaching of your mother.” Prov 1:8

Father God, guide our city’s middle school students to listen to the instruction of their parents and their teachers that they may continue to grow in knowledge, good judgment and favor with those around them.  Guide their parents and teachers with wisdom that they will recognize the uniqueness of each student, and know how to train and encourage each of them as they head towards adulthood.

Let us again be a city for healing…

Memorial HospitalHeal the sick in that town and say to them, ‘The Kingdom of God has come upon you!'” Luke 10:9

Thank you Father, for Memorial Hospital and for all who are healed and comforted through the work of the people who serve there.

We pray for wisdom as our city decides the future of the hospital, whether it should remain city owned or not. Show us the correct business structures and ownership approach so that the hospital will serve those in need in the best ways.

In the early years of our city, people would come from around the country to find healing for Tuberculosis and other lung diseases. May our city be known for healing once again!

Father, mobilize us…

“Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.'” ( Matthew 9:37-38 NIV)
Father, we ask You to mobilize us to become workers for the harvest. Reveal to us that the problem is the workforce, not the harvest.  We reject the lie that people don’t want to come to You.  Open our eyes to see that the harvest is truly plentiful and that there are people around us who are searching for the truth.  Open our eyes to the times to share the Gospel and when to simply plant seeds.  Grant us holy boldness and gracious sensitivity with those we come in contact with every day.
We embrace Your Great Commission as our mission in life.  We cooperate with you and become your vessels to share the “Good News” of Your love.
In Jesus’ Name we pray.

Show off your Son to the artists…

After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. John 17:1

Father we ask that you show off your Son to the artists in our city. Release dreams and visions to students and professionals in the art community. Glorify your Son to the creative ones so that they in turn will glorify you with that creativity. We thank you that the time has come for Jesus to be finally lifted up through the arts.

Teach us to praise the Lord at all times…

“Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.” Psalm 119:28

Heavenly Father, I pray in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ that our families will rise up early each day to give You praise and to honour Your name by treating each other with the respect and love that Jesus would. May parents teach their children to praise You for Your loving kindness and Your wonderful works by their example and leadership as they praise and worship You with their whole hearts in their homes. Help each of those in our families to love the Lord their God with all their heart, and to love their neighbors as themselves. Help each of them to overcome sin, and the world….to focus on their heavenly Father above all else and give Him all the glory.
