Cyber Security Center 5

City Transformation: Protecting our nation

  • Pray that God would protect our city’s computer systems while the center is being built and would use the center for protection once it is operating.

Last winter, the Colorado legislature allocated funds to build a national cyber security center here in Colorado Springs and this spring, the effort’s leadership selected a location along Nevada Ave near UCCS for the center.  The Denver Post noted that Colorado Springs was the first city connected to the network that became the Internet, so we have been and continue to be leaders in this field.  This week we are praying for this new venture.

City Transformation: Military personnel in our city

  • Pray for the wounded warriors in our city.  Pray for healing, particularly for damaged minds and emotions, and for a revelation of God’s purposes for their lives.

In the spirit of Memorial Day, let us remember not only those who have fallen, but all those who have served.  Most of the prayer points this week were borrowed from Give Him 15.

  • Pray for the families of those who serve. They pay a great price also, in relocations and in dealing with any physical, mental and emotional effects their loved ones may experience.

  • Pray for those in our city who are retired military. Ask the Lord to provide everything they need – provision, jobs, medical care and companionship. Pray against all infirmity of body and mind resulting from their service.

  • Pray for servicemen and women, especially those you know personally. Ask the Lord to give them strength and grace for their assignments, especially those serving in war zones overseas.

Memorial Day

Pray for those who mourn the loss of friends or family members who gave their lives in defense of our country.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.   –Isaiah 61:1-2

Declaring the Kingdom 5

City Transformation: Declaring the vision

  • Declare: We declare blessings and protection over the military bases and personnel in our city.  We declare that they will find Jesus and grow in Him while living in our city.  Their children will flourish here.  The Prince of Peace will dwell among them.

The Scriptures say that we are not only saved from sin but we are saved to a new, divine nature that reflects the God we love.  A group of prayer leaders in the city have put together a series of declarations of what God wants our city to be.  This week we will be declaring this vision for our city in faith, releasing God’s resurrection power that he placed within us in order to bring the vision to its full expression among us.
