We pray for Christian heritage in our public schools . . .

“After that whole generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation grew up, who knew neither the LORD nor what he had done for Israel.”  –Judges 2:10

We join with Colorado Concert of Prayer that God will rouse the hearts of Christians in our region to “stand and speak” for our Christian heritage in public schools.  We ask that small teams, interdenominational between churches, will rise up to speak out and address issues in our public schools.  We pray that Christians in school districts in our region will band together to bring resource people in like David Barton, a renowned Christian historian who has helped other school districts rewrite Social Studies curriculum, and Eric Buehrer, who offers seminars for churches and teachers, to help turn our schools back to a full recognition of our Christian heritage.

We pray for wisdom and preparedness…

“Go to the ant, you sluggard; observe its ways and be wise! It has no commander, overseer, or ruler, yet it prepares its food in the summer; it gathers at the harvest what it will eat.” Proverbs 6:6-8

Thank you Father for the electronic and communications technology that we use to make life better.

We ask you to give our utility providers the wisdom and the resources to be prepared for any issues that may arise as our sun reaches a solar maximum later this year. Help them be ready to deal with disruptions to the electrical or communication systems due to the large solar flares that might occur.

Meet with us as we pray…

“First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercessions, and thanks be offered on behalf of all people, even for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. Such prayer for all is good and welcomed before God our Savior, since he wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1-4

Thank you Father, for the houses of prayer around our region, such as Prayer Mountain Colorado, The Jericho Center, Transform USA, and many others.

As your people gather to pray, may we experience your manifest presence that transforms us and empowers our prayers to change our world. Guide us as we partner with you in the works you are doing in our city and around the world, speak to us about the things that are on your agenda, and free us to be your ambassadors and carriers of your presence when we leave the prayer house.

Teach us to live in the truth…

I’ve written to warn you about those who are trying to deceive you. But they’re no match for what is embedded deeply within you—Christ’s anointing, no less! You don’t need any of their so-called teaching. Christ’s anointing teaches you the truth on everything you need to know about yourself and him, uncontaminated by a single lie. Live deeply in what you were taught. –1 John 2:27 (The Message)

Lord, we thank you that Christ’s anointing is our teacher. We ask that creatives would not be contaminated by any lie. Raise up artists and musicians that are embedded in Kingdom creativity, song and sight. Lead them to live deeply in all they have been taught by your Spirit. Make a way for these ones that are set apart for you to teach others the Creative Way.

We pray for those with depression…

“To give them a fair head-dress in place of dust, the oil of joy in place of the clothing of grief, praise in place of sorrow; so that they may be named trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, and so that he may have glory.” Isaiah 61:3

Thank you Father that you took up our infirmities and carried our diseases on the cross.

We pray for those families who have someone suffering from depression.  We pray for your healing power to touch their minds, their bodies and their emotions.  Root out the causes of their depression and bring them to resolution.  Give the family members the wisdom, patience and strength they need to walk along side on the journey to wholeness.

Let our military leaders train and lead in righteousness…

“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except by God’s appointment, and the authorities that exist have been instituted by God.”. Romans 13:1-4

Thank you for the military leaders here in our city. Give them great wisdom and a deep sense of righteousness and justice as they wield “the sword” on our behalf. May they train the members of the military to walk in righteousness and justice, avoiding the temptations to use their military might for selfish gain and instead using it to protect and to lift up the weak and the vulnerable. May they be instruments of rescue and liberty here in Colorado Springs and around the world.

We pray for your wisdom and your provision…

“The greedy person stirs up dissension, but the one who trusts in the Lord will prosper.” Proverbs 28:25

Lord, anoint Mayor Bach’s efforts to correct and improve the financial condition of Colorado Springs. As Mayor Bach and his City leadership team look at ways to make our City more attractive for businesses to move here, to attract technology and other highly skilled industries, what to ultimately do with Memorial Hospital, and even how to work with the state of Colorado to facilitate the use of Banning Lewis Ranch and possible oil production there, Lord we ask You to pour out Your resources and financial blessings into the Springs. Our City looks to You to provide for us in the uncertain days that lie ahead!
