We pray for our city’s youth as they begin summer vacation . . .

“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.”           –Luke 2:52

Father God, we pray for our city’s young people as they head into summer vacation.   We ask that they would have positive friendships among their peers and that they would choose their activities wisely that they might develop in wisdom and stature.  We also ask that they would have good relationships with their families and mentors (coaches, youth leaders, etc.) We pray for safety for those who are traveling.

Draw your business people to this city…

“Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.” Genesis 12:1

Thank you Father that the cost of living index here in the Springs is 8% lower than the national average, making our city an attractive place to move to.

We pray that you would draw the professionals and business people that you want to join us in this city, people who are ready to lead the city into the ways and acts of your Kingdom.

One Voice in the Rockies

Coming together to pray for Colorado Springs

Some leaders in the Front Range Region of Colorado are organizing and coordinating a region-wide prayer event called “One Voice in the Rockies” that will occur on June 6, 2011 followed by a region-wide praise and worship night on June 7th. This strategic prayer event is based on a series of prophetic words spoken about the renewal, revival and spiritual strongholds of the Pikes Peak Region. “One Voice in the Rockies” is a prayer and worship event that will gather and mobilize local pastors, intercessors and worshipers to several strategic locations in this region to worship and pray over the Front Range Region of Colorado and then reconvene on June 7th for a massive praise and worship night.

Raise up churches to reach the seven spheres of our city…

Seven Mountains Logo“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10

Thank you Father that your desire is to make earth a better place, more like heaven than hell.  We pray that you would raise up congregations in our city that are called and equipped to transform the seven spheres of culture in our city to look more like the Kingdom of God: Family, Religion, Government, Business, Education, Arts & Entertainment, and Media.

We pray for the Veteran’s Art Outreach program . . .

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: . . .a time to kill, and a time to heal; . . . a time of war, and a time of peace.” — Eccle 3:1, 3, 8

Father God, we pray for the Veteran’s Art Outreach program at the Cottonwood Center for the Arts in Colorado Springs.  We thank you that the program provides a free, supportive place for veterans and their families to create art.  We ask you to bless the local artists who are donating their time and skills to teach free art classes for the program.  We also ask that you would use this program to bring healing to our veterans and their families through the therapy of art.

Restore full partnership…

Partners‘Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.’ Genesis 1:26-27

Father, thank you for your original plan for husbands and wives to walk in partnership as rulers over your creation. We pray that you would give couples in our city the close bond and full partnership that Adam and Eve had in the garden. May they lay down their lives for one another and reap the full blessing that you bestow on that kind of love.

Let the children come to me

Jesus, You said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children” (Matt 19:14).

We pray for our Troops as they engage the children of war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Keep Your love and compassion alive in our uniformed servicemembers. Give them wisdom on how they interact with these precious innocents. Protect our men and women from speaking words or committing deeds which cause wounds to these children. Let the least of these come to You, Jesus, as they see Your Spirit reflected through our Troops. Do not allow terrorists to use these little ones to bring harm to our warriors.
