Resurrection Day…

“He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said.” Matthew 28:6a

May all in our city encounter the risen Lord!

Happy Resurrection Day and thank you for praying with us.

Blessings,
The Colorado Springs Prayer Focus Team

Conservation and Environmental Center

“Then the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it.” Genesis 2:15

We thank you, Lord, for the the leadership of Colorado Springs Utilities to be good stewards of our environment. We pray for CSU’s Conservation and Environmental Center in the Mesa neighborhood that provides information and resources for energy and water efficiency. We ask that this center would continue to serve our region through on-site experts to answer questions, the Xeriscape Demonstration Garden, an extensive resource library and hands-on displays, and that our area residents would take advantage of this center for good conservation of our local resources.

Academy for Advanced Creative Learning

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
And before you were born I consecrated you.” Jeremiah 1:5a

Today we pray for the Academy for Advanced and Creative Learning located in the Mesa neighborhood, the only school in the region fully designed for K-8 advanced learners where every staff member specializes in gifted education. Lord God, we thank you for this educational resource for this unique group of students, and we ask for continued insight for the teachers as they design curriculum and teach their students.  We also ask that all students who would especially benefit from this Academy would be able to do so.

Kissing Camels/Mesa schools

“Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

With almost a three times higher percentage of Kissing Camels K-12 students attending private school compared with the rest of the city, we pray for ample options to meet the unique needs of each of the students.  We pray for quality education in both private schools and Dist. 11 public schools, particularly Coronado High School and Holmes Middle School.  We ask for the best use of both private and public school resources for the students, and for wisdom for families as they make school choices for their children.

Kissing Camels Surgery Center

“For I, the Lord, am your healer.” Exodus 15:26b

Lord God, we thank you for ample quality medical care available in our city.  We ask that it would also continue to be affordable for those who need it.  We pray specifically that the new Kissing Camels Surgery Center would be able to negotiate fair contracts with insurance companies so that patients would have the medical care they need with adequate insurance coverage.

Kissing Camels reservoirs

This week as we turn to the Kissing Camels/Mesa neighborhoods, we pray for continued quality water supply in the Glen Eyrie and Highline Reservoirs in the Kissing Camels neighborhood.  We thank you for this in-city recreation area for fishermen, and ask for continued capable and wise management of these important resources to our city.

Teach us to feed on manna…

“When they measured it with an omer, he who had gathered much had no excess, and he who had gathered little had no lack; every man gathered as much as he should eat.” Exodus 16:18

Thank you Father for your daily provision for us. Teach us to feed on your manna every day, both the spiritual and the physical. May we be filled with your Spirit daily and may we receive your provision daily with thanks. May we set worry aside and may we reflect your generous and loving heart, freely sharing your manna with the people around us so that everyone in the city is spiritually and physically nourished.
