“Of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do.” 1 Chronicles 12:32a
In these days of change and trauma, may our business and media leaders recognize the signs of the times and respond with wisdom. May we prepare and respond in ways that are godly and life-giving so that our city will be a blessing.
“I have posted watchers on your walls; they will pray day and night, continually. Take no rest, all you who pray to the LORD.” –Is. 62:6
Father God, as yet another tragedy has happened in our state, we pray for comfort for the victims’ families and your healing presence for the physically and emotionally wounded. We also ask you, Holy Spirit, to stir up more watchers on the wall across our state, and that intercessors would know better how and when to pray to thwart these tragedies before they happen. Build a shield of prayer around the people of our state.
“For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.” Jeremiah 31:25
Thank you Father for the many families that safely escaped from the fire.
We pray for those that are still displaced due to losing their home, damage to their home, or the effects of smoke and ash. Give them a place to lay their heads, friends who will care for them, and your peace within their hearts and minds. Be their security while they are wandering away from home.
“…Your kingdom come, Your will be done…” Matthew 6:10
Your kingdom came with Jesus announcing it over 2,000 years ago.
So we have continued it with works but Jesus said we would do greater ones because of where He is seated and where we are seated as His bride.
We lift up the planning of the wounded warrior healing service at Ft. Carson. We say we are ready and expectant to see miracles and a mighty move of God in that city within our city.
Thank you Father for ‘Colorado Springs Together‘, a non-profit organization and website operating as a centralized “clearing house” for information, services, and resources available to those in need—as well as for those who are able to offer help.
We pray that you would bless their efforts to meet the needs of those affected by the fire, that you would ’embed’ your people in the organization, and that you would use it to bring glory to your name.
“For the Lord gives skillful and godly wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” –Prov 2:6
Lord, we pray for the leaders in our region’s schools as they make final hiring and staffing decision for the new school year. We ask for wisdom and discernment as they interview and appoint faculty; help them to see the true character of the candidates, that our students would be safe and well taught. We also ask that they would make good decisions about the assignments for each teacher, so that the teachers’ best abilities and talents would be tapped.
“…to grant to those who mourn in Zion—
to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
that they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3
Thank you Father that the fire is contained and life is getting back to normal for most of us. We pray for the businesses that are dependent on tourists. We ask that the word would get out around the country and around the world that Colorado Springs is open for business.
