Outreach 3

City Transformation: Outreach in Jesus’ Name

  • Pray for our local GI Grannies for Soldier Support (GIGSS), a military support outreach group with a sole purpose to fortify our military service heroes. Some of our local grannies represent Jesus in their work among the soldiers.

This week we are praying for some of those groups in our city that reach out to those who are in need and/or are uncomfortable in our conventional Christian gatherings with the hope of the good news of Jesus as savior, redeemer and Lord.

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15

City Transformation: Outreach in Jesus’ Name

  • Pray for The Street Church, which began in 2006 to serve God and the poor in Colorado Springs.  They share the gospel with men and women who will not attend more conventional places of worship.  Their mission is “to the streets of our city to feed and clothe the poor, to preach the gospel, and give hope through the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Turning Around 5

City Transformation: Turning Around

  • Pray for a turning around in our city where family and youth are not valued and supported, turning to a culture of respect for marriage and a commitment to the safety and healthy development of all our children.

Leading prophets across the country are telling us that 2015 is a year for turning around and breaking out of those things that have held us back or kept us out of alignment with the flow of God’s power and grace.  It is a year to “recalibrate.” We are praying for a turning around in different places in our city that have been stagnant or stuck in what seem to be unresolvable problems.

Turning Around 2

City Transformation: Turning Around

  • Pray for a turning around from any ineffective, self-serving leadership in our local government.  Pray particularly for the upcoming mayoral/city council elections that changes made to our current leadership would be positive for the future of the city.
