We pray for Mercy’s Gate . . .

“Is not this the fast that I choose:
to loose the bonds of wickedness,
to undo the straps of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to break every yoke?
Is it not to share your bread with the hungry
and bring the homeless poor into your house;
when you see the naked, to cover him,
and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?” Isaiah 58:6-7

This week we pray for local organizations that bridge the gap for those most vulnerable, in need, and underserved in our region.  Today, we thank you, Lord, for Mercy’s Gate, which has been meeting the physical, financial, emotional and spiritual needs of our Colorado Springs neighbors for 30 years.  We pray specifically for their Home for the Holidays goal this month to keep all qualified families who need rental or mortgage assistance in their homes for Christmas. As they now have sponsors for over half of the 200 families in need of assistance, we ask for more individual and group sponsors to meet their goal.
