City Transformation: Education
- Pray our teens and young adults to have awareness of their talents and callings and to be encouraged and enabled to pursue education and training best suited to the men and women they are destined to be. Also, pray for wise and discerning parents, mentors and counselors.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it” (Prov. 22:6). In his ministry, Jesus knew the importance of teaching and learning, of mentoring and discipleship. Our city has a smorgasbord of educational options at all levels, but politics, controlling special interests, economics, and family dysfunction often dilute or hamper the quality of education available. It isn’t enough to “Christianize” our schools. We need Kingdom thinking and creativity to bring transformation in all our educational systems.
