City Transformation: Identity

  • Pray that as a city we would have a corporate vision for being a city of refuge and understand how to work together toward fulfilling that vision.

As we begin praying together again, we are focusing first on identity: knowing who we are in relation to God and to each other guides how we treat one another, how we make choices, and what our city will become in the years to come. This week we will be praying for transformation through clarifying and establishing our God-ordained identity as a city, as groups within our city, and as individuals.

“So then you are no longer foreigners and noncitizens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of Godʼs household, because you have been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.” –Ephesians 2:19-20

“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery leading again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba, Father.”” –Romans 8:15

“He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” –Titus 3:5b-7
