City Transformation: Immigrants
- Pray for our immigrant brothers and sisters who worship and live among us
The population of Colorado Springs includes over 25,000 residents who are foreign born, representing 7% of us. Among us 75% of the Asians, 18% of the Hispanics, and 9% of the Blacks are foreign born. While the political divide on undocumented immigrants and multiculturalism continues, we have opportunity to respond in unity as we pray for our community to cross that divide in Kingdom-minded ways.
“You must not exploit a foreign resident or oppress him, since you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.” –Ex 22:21
“Therefore you are no longer outsiders (exiles, migrants, and aliens, excluded from the rights of citizens), but you now share citizenship with the saints (God’s own people, consecrated and set apart for Himself); and you belong to God’s [own] household.” –Eph 2:19
