City Transformation: Cessation of Violence against Women and Children
- Thank God for local law enforcement commitment to combat human trafficking and pray for more success as they continue their efforts.
“The Colorado Springs Police Department formed a Human Trafficking Investigation Team last year to address an increase in the commercial sex trade in the Pikes Peak area. In their first year the team made 22 felony arrests, 47 misdemeanor arrests, including the arrest of 17 johns and 17 pimps. They recovered 26 juvenile and 44 adult victims engaged in trafficking. Detectives from the team assisted on 12 multi-agency operations. Since inception, investigations have resulted in the seizure of $1216.00 worth of narcotics and $94,354.00 in cash.” —Jan. 15, 2015 report
“The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong.” Romans 13:4
