City Transformation: Protection

  • Ask God to continue to call, equip and empower intercessors who build and maintain a spiritual protective covering over our city and region.

This week we are asking for God to cover and protect our region from physical and spiritual threats.

City Transformation: Released into God’s Purposes

  • Pray for those who have been wounded by the people of the church and/or disillusioned by empty religious practices, that they would experience God’s power and love.

This week we are praying for those with connections to our city who are called to God’s kingdom, but are not yet walking in his calling for them.

City Transformation: Coordination of Efforts

  • Pray for Holy Spirit empowered strategies and activities that will free and heal people from the conditions that often lead to long-term homelessness, and will give a hand up to people who find themselves in crisis situations and lose their homes.

We are praying this week for some of the most troubled and vulnerable people of our city. In April of each year, the winter shelters close up shop for the season, reducing the number of safe places for homeless people to sleep by over 200 beds.  At the same time, the population of homeless people in the Springs has increased over the last year. While the Springs Rescue Mission is working on expanding their capacity, over the summer there is an increased danger to people living on the streets, particularly women, because they cannot get indoors for the night.  One woman was recently pushed off of a bridge, then repeatedly raped for three days while she lay paralyzed from her injuries.

City Transformation: Coordination of Efforts

  • Thank God for the recently announced and ongoing coordination and cooperation between the major ministries to the homeless in our city.  Pray that the partnerships will bear much fruit in protecting our city’s most vulnerable.

City Transformation: Summer Housing

  • Pray for a short term and long term solution to the summer housing problem, since homeless people in our city are endangered by more than just cold weather
