Father, 5,000 vets die each year by their own hand. We ask you to destroy this spirit of death that surrounds our soldiers. Suicide is often a response to unmanageable pain, both physical & emotional, but our men have grown up in a “John Wayne-Lone Ranger” culture. Our strong-silent types are often the most overlooked but vulnerable. Father, please remove the stigma attached to reaching out— connect them—they NEED to belong. May their thoughts of being a burden leave & may they feel valuable once again.
