We pray for Northern Command in Colorado Springs

“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles…” Isaiah 40:31

Today we ask for wisdom and guidance for Admiral James A. Winnefeld, Jr., USN Commander of US Northern Command stationed at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs.  Lord, grant Admiral Winnefeld supernatural discernment and keen eagle eyes as he commands the safety of North American air space from the enemies of our homeland.

We pray for the voters…

“When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices.” Proverbs 11:10

Thank you Father for the freedom to elect our leaders and to run for office regardless of religion, family connections, race, gender or political views.

We pray for the upcoming city elections as people receive their ballots in the mail this week.  We ask you to shine your light on all of the candidates so we can clearly see who they are and what they believe in. We ask you to move on the hearts of the voters to select the best person for the job at this point in our city’s history.

Guide us as well as we vote for changes to the city charter.  Give us your wisdom on how to adjust the rules under which we govern the city so that the righteous may prosper, the unrighteous be brought to justice, and the downtrodden be lifted up.

We pray for students on spring break . . .

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.  –Ps 23:2-3

Father God, we pray for all the students in our city on spring break this week.  We pray that You would give them rest where they are weary and restoration where they need renewed energies to return to their studies and other activities.  We also pray for safety for the students and their families who are traveling for a vacation away from our city.

Give us your ideas for creating good jobs…

Help Wanted“The LORD was with [Joseph]; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden..” Genesis 39:21

Thank you Father, that you show favor to those who are called by your name and you prosper them even in difficult circumstances.

Thank you that our city’s economy is growing again.  We ask that the growing prosperity will spill over to the unemployed and underemployed.  We pray that you would speak to your people, giving them the steps to take and the confidence to create new jobs in our city.  May your Kingdom grow in the businesses and media outlets of Colorado Springs!

Make us unshakable…

Unshakable

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.” Hebrews 12:28

Father, we trust You to build into the Church in the Front Range a deep, abiding security in You. When everything around may be shaking, we trust that You and Your Kingdom do not shake. You are our only true stability. We pray that believers in this region be rooted and established in their relationship with You and Your Word.

We pray for the Ballet Magnificat visit today…

“Then David danced before the LORD with all his might.” 2 Samuel 6:14

Thank you Father, for the ability to worship you with dancing.

We pray for the Ballet Magnificat master class today here in the Springs.  May they teach our young dancers how to express worship to you with beauty and creativity.  Guard over our dancers, inspire them with visions of heavenly worship, and empower them to usher in your manifest presence when they dance.

We pray for family time…

“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.” Proverbs 1:8

Thank you Father, for the wisdom, instruction, and modeling that parents provide for their children.

We pray for your grace and wisdom for the families of our city.  Give them time to spend together, opportunities to teach and learn from one another, and listening ears to hear one another in both the day to day and the special times.
