We pray for the legacy of Old Colorado city . . .

“For whoever has despised the day of small things shall rejoice.” Zechariah 4:10a

Father God, we pray for your legacy for Old Colorado City. As the recently found original copy of the 1859 Fosdick map of what is now the Old Colorado City neighborhood portrays, Henry Fosdick and others envisioned it as the future capital of the territory. (Though Colorado City was able to win the title of capital of Colorado Territory for a few days in the summer of 1861, legislators found the cramped log hut that acted as their chamber so primitive they voted to adjourn and meet a few days later in Denver.)  The many lots unsold at the time from that original plat map are now filled with vintage homes and Old Colorado City has twice the population density of Colorado Springs. Lord, Colorado City had a different future, and we ask that it will move forward in your destiny for its place in the life and blessing of this region.
