Palmer Park

“He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.” Psalms 23:2-3

We thank you, Lord, for the gift of Palmer Park to the city from its founder, Gen. William Palmer.  We also thank you for the work of the Civilian Conservation Corps, a program that was a part of President Roosevelt’s New Deal in  the 1930s, in which young men from across the nation lived in camps in the park and are credited with building most of the park’s trail system that exists today.  We pray that your presence and protection would fill the park as people visit and recreate there.  We also ask that those who use the park for illegal and immoral purposes would be deterred.
