City Transformation: Coordination of Efforts
- Thank God for the recently announced and ongoing coordination and cooperation between the major ministries to the homeless in our city. Pray that the partnerships will bear much fruit in protecting our city’s most vulnerable.
We are praying this week for some of the most troubled and vulnerable people of our city. In April of each year, the winter shelters close up shop for the season, reducing the number of safe places for homeless people to sleep by over 200 beds. At the same time, the population of homeless people in the Springs has increased over the last year. While the Springs Rescue Mission is working on expanding their capacity, over the summer there is an increased danger to people living on the streets, particularly women, because they cannot get indoors for the night. One woman was recently pushed off of a bridge, then repeatedly raped for three days while she lay paralyzed from her injuries.
